Event synopsis:
Newsletters are dead: Long live engagement!
A recent survey stated that 50% of internal communicators are concerned about their jobs this year. It’s reality check time. The recession is here and it’s time to get smart or get binned. The pressure to maintain revenues or drop costs is hitting nearly all of us in organizations both small and large.
As Angela Sinickas wrote in a recent article on Melcrum’s InternalCommsHub ‘Instead of pontificating about the organization’s strategy, we need to make it relevant by giving examples of how employees in different units or job functions can help the strategy succeed, and how it benefits them to do so’.
The new Holy Grail for IC has to lie in both organizational alignment and staff engagement!
As IC’s, we can really shine by helping our organization’s figure out for themselves how to better work together and increase efficiencies. So often, the best ideas lie inside, but are left undiscovered because traditional hierarchies stop them from emerging.
Together, we’ll explore alignment and engagement with a view to making ourselves indispensable.
It will be facilitated by David Paul (Cordovan Consulting) and Jason Bates (‘Heart Shift’).
A pre-think document will be issued to all RSVP’s in advance, to get everyone thinking about the issues.
It’ll be a little different this time. From the findings, a short paper will be produced to assist everyone in making their own difference at their respective organizations.
